Potential hazards resulting from volcanic eruptions within the Cascade Range were focused on. Volcanic ash eruptions, and floods and mudwaters were considered to be the most hazardous of the eruptive materials. Lassen Peak was considered to be an example of the types of eruptions which can occur and also as an example where few people were injured.
