The Southeast Utah Group of national parks has been monitoring water quality at spring and seep sites at various levels since 1983. The program has undergone several changes during the course of the program. Field analysis of chemical parameters was dropped in favor of sending samples to be analyzed to the Utah Department of Water Quality, starting in late 1990. A 1992-1994 revision of the monitoring program involved improved sample collection, storage and transportation methods, as well as dropping many of the 45 sites being sampled yearly in favor of quarterly monitoring of sites with potential threats. This report presents an assessment of existing water quality data, and includes data results, technical recommendations, and corrected and consolidated versions of the park and Utah database files.
