Basaltic Volcanism Along the Great Rift, Idaho: II Models for Storage, Ascent, and Eruption of Magma
Kuntz MA. Basaltic Volcanism Along the Great Rift, Idaho: II Models for Storage, Ascent, and Eruption of Magma
Presents a model that accounts for the formation, storage, ascent, and eruption of magma along the Great Rift. Based on precusor events and observations of the processes and products of several eruptions formed the framework for the models of these volcanoes. Models have also been based on physical properties of magmas and host rocks and mathematical constraints that provide both insight and guidelines to volcanic processes. Geographic location: Regional, including CRMO (Craters of the Moon National Monument).
