Report on the calcareous glades (cedar glades) of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. Includes a section on baseline data for the glades (established permanent transects in 9 glades and gathered information on woody and herbaceous species and cover to be used as a baseline for monitoring change). Another section gives baseline population data for heartleaf plantain (Plantago cordata), a rare species which grows in five creeks in the park. A third section consists of ESAs (Element Stewardship Abstracts) which summarize the biology, ecology and stewardship needs of 4 rare species - Leavenworthia exigua, Hypericum dolabriforme, Pediomelum subacaule, and Plantago cordata. A fourth section contains a discussion of the results and recommendations for management. The appendices include lists of plants found in each of 23 glades plus a comprehensive list for all 23 glades.
