Three fenced and protected (against the wild hog) areas were censused nine times for two hours each, for breeding birds, for those nesting nearby, and transients. The sites were Abrams Creek flood plain and to at Beech Gap. All had rare plants needing protection from hog rooting. The data were to be used as baselines for further studies of areas not rooted, as well as for avian populations .
