Study with the following objectives: establish permanent study sites for epiphytic lichens; determine if any of these lichens had suffered from SO2 pollution; obtain existing air pollution level data. Includes a table listing lichen taxon, host tree and number of trees, another giving frequency, percent cover and importance value. Notes on substrate specificity, and species diversity. Computer models indicate that predicted SO2 levels for Big Thicket fall below those expected to cause damage. Appendices include black and white photographs.
