A study of white-tailed deer was conducted in the Ajo Mountains of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument (1976-1978). One purpose was to discover and evaluate the factors affecting distribution, abundance, and probability of survival for these deer. Predation, vegetation, competition, water use, topography, diet, and human interference are some factors discussed. Includes management recommendations, extensive bibliography, 18 figures (including maps and clear photocopies of photographs), 10 tables (including vegetation cover by species).
