Wild trout resources and management in the Southern Appalachian Mountains

Habera JW and Strange RJ. 1993. Wild trout resources and management in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Fisheries. 18(1):6-13

This article is a review of surveys by six state and federal natural resource management agencies to obtain estimates of the wild trout resources of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, and to review associated management programs. The Blue Ridge Parkway contains a small wild trout resource in both Virginia and North Carolina; management activities are typically coordinated with state resource management agencies because they have concurrent jurisdiction.
