Baseline Water Quality Data Inventory and Analysis, Voyageurs National Park

National Park Service. 1995. Baseline Water Quality Data Inventory and Analysis, Voyageurs National Park. Technical Report NPS/NRWRD/NRTR-95/44. National Park Service, Water Resources Division. Fort Collins, Colorado

This document presents the results of surface-water-quality data for Voyageurs National Park retrieved from five EPA national databases, (STORET, RF3, IFD, DRINKS, and GAGES). It provides a complete inventory of all retrieved water quality parameter data, and descriptive statistics and graphical plots of water quality data characterizing annual and seasonal central tendancies and trends. It also compares the park's water quality data to relevent EPA and WRD water quality screening criteria, and provides an inventory of what water quality parameters have been measured within the study area. Accompanying the report are seven disks containing digital copies of all data used in the report. Eighty-four sampling stations yielded one-time or or intensive single-year samplings. Fourteen stations within the study yielded long-term records containing multiple observations for several water quality parameters. Results found nine parameters that exceeded screening criteria at least once within the study area. In particular, this document provides: (1) a complete inventory of all retrieved water quality parameter data, water quality stations, and the entities responsible for data collection; (2) descriptive statistics and appropriate graphical plots of water quality data characterizing period of record, annual, seasonal central tendencies and trends; (3) a comparison of the park's water quality data to relevant EPA and WRD water quality screening criteria; and (4) an Inventory Data Evaluation and Analysis (IDEA) to determine what Servicewide Inventory and Monitoring Program "Level I" water quality parameters have been measured within the study area. Accompanying the report are disks containing digital copies of all data used in the report, as well as all components of the report (tables, figures, etc.).
