During the winter of 1953-54, a study was undertaken (1) to determine the relative abundance of food on the winter range of moose in the Jackson Hole country of Wyoming, as a basis for future range-trend studies, (2) to define the food habits of moose on the Jackson Hole winter range, and (3) to evaluate the effect of moose browsing on the vegetation.
