This report summarizes findings of several other researchers that the distribution of the wolf (Canis lupus) is related to the density of roads passable by 2-wheel-drive vehicles. In particular, it evaluates the Theil, (1995) finding that road densities of 0.58 km/km2 represent a threshold level for the occurrence of wolves.
