Spreiter TA and Johnson LE. 1981. Work summary and cost analysis report, site 80-5: W-Line and Dolason Prairie [with addendum]
This report is one of a large group containing details of individual projects done as part of the major rehabilitation efforts in the Redwood Creek basin, Redwood National Park, California. The introduction describes conditions along the W-Line Road, built as a major logging haul road. Specific details are given for heavy equipment work at each of many small sites along the W-Line and Harding roads. Other sections cover labor intensive work and costs, and winter maintenance. Appendices include stream crossing recalculations and a table of costs. This binder includes large envelopes with folded maps showing erosion control work on the upper unit and on the lower unit. Background information on file for each site includes photopoint files (photopoint maps and description of locations for documentary photographs), color slides (the work process, before-and-after documentation), administrative files (calculations of volumes for excavation, equipment/hours/costs, daily logs, contracts, etc.), detailed geomorphic site maps (unmarked mylar base maps with overlays), and aerial photographs.
