Xantusia v. vigilis in Death Valley National Monument, California

The author found yucca night lizards (Xantusia v. vigilis) in several locations in the Panamint Mountains of Death Valley National Park. The lizards had been suspected for this area, based on populations around the park, but none had been found in the valley areas. The Panamint Mountain lizards were all found at high elevations, under stones, and mostly associated with sagebrush roots. Several others found on the east side of Death Valley, at different locations in the Amargosa Range, were under boards.
