This annotated checklist of the bats known to occur at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument provides information on the life history and habitat needs of each species. A critical factor is the need for free water during hot seasons: while some small species are able to use small containers in flight, others require larger open areas of standing water that allow a long swooping pass for water.
