This is the first volume of a 4 volume series addressing beach movement in Gulf Islands National Seashore - FL and MS units. Volume 1 reports specifically on the monitoring of the beach nourishment project adjacent to Ft. Massachusetts in 1996. The report provides quantitative data on nourishment performance, predictions on its lifespan, and recommendations on future shoreline/fort protective measures. Additional information on the impact of Hurricane Danny is included.
