Telaquana Lake furbearer survey

The 1999/2000 Telequana Lake furbearer survey was designed primarily to begin collecting baseline distribution and relative abundance trend data of furbearers within the lower portion of Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. All furbearer transects and pellet transects were mapped and entered into the Park's GIS database so that they could be run by new personnel in subsequent winters. Nine furbearer species were targeted: wolverine, marten, weasel, wolf, coyote, red fox, lynx, mink, and river otter. Relative abundance and distribution waqs calculated for all furbearer species. Snowshow hare pellet transects were established. Prey species distribution and relative abundance was assessed. Owl territories and distribution was also assessed.
