An aerial survey of Isle Royale flown in 1982 shows that the number of beaver colonies observed has recovered to 1978 and 1962 levels. 125 beaver colonies were observed and classified by habitat. Colonies were observed for signs of recent use. Beavers were live trapped and examined.
