Biodiversity in Prince William Forest Park: trees and shrubs
Borkowski TV, Taylor JB, Borkowski RJ. 1994. Biodiversity in Prince William Forest Park: trees and shrubs. Northern Virginia Community College, Woodbridge Campus. Woodbridge, VA
An inventory was conducted over a one month period in the southwest quadrant of Prince William Forest Park covering South Quantico creek, Mawavi Fire Road and Parking Lot I to determine species composition of trees and shrubs. Qualitative field observations were supplemented by quantitative measurements of species density, dominance and importance using a point quarter method. Importance values (the most important species in terms of relative frequency, relative density, and relative dominance) were calculated from measurements. Appendices include a park map showing study areas; a species list showing scientific name and location found; a checklist showing scientific family and species name, and species common name; a list of species expected but not found; and analysis tables.
