A study of hanging gardens conducted in 1991-1993 in seven National Park Service units on the Colorado Plateau, including Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and Natural Bridges National Monument, which sampled for vascular plant and small fauna diversity, distribution, abundance, levels of endemism, and biogeographic origin of endemic taxa, to test the hypotheses concerning species richness-area relationship of habitat islands, with particular emphasis on the core-satellite prediction.
