Coal Creek Neotropical Bird Surveys

This report describes the mehods and results from off-road point count surveys of neotrpical migrants conducted on the Coal River, a tributary of the Yukon River, in Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve. A total of 21 bird species were dtetected during the survey. The most common birds seen or heard during the surveys included the Slate-colored junco, Swainson's thrush, Orange-crowned warbler, varied thrush, and myrtle thrush; these species accounted for 51% of total birds detected.
