An inventory of birds and mammals present in the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation area conducted in 1985. Special attention is given to the study area and the various methods of inventory that were used. The purpose of this study is to identify general types of habitats in Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area and to describe characteristics of vegetation along transects, develop a list of birds and mammals inhabiting Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area and their relative abundance and habitat associations, determine abundance of general types of habitats and determine numbers of species associated with types of habitats, provide management recommendations relative to unique species and unique features found during the survey.
