This report describes the results of a three week botanical investigation of Aniakchak Caldera by a research group under the sponsorship of the National Park Service in July of 1987. The group collected and identified 138 species of vascular plant species and made 130 bryophyte and lichen collections. Using reconnaisance techniques 14 plant communities were identified growing in 11 habitat types. Further descriptions of these communities was made through quatitative sampling with m2 plots. This report contains detailed community and habitat descriptions and sketch maps, an annotated species list of vascular plants and recommendations for future research in Aniakchak Caldera.
