Pilobolus from Grand Canyon National Park

Foos KM. 1991. Pilobolus from Grand Canyon National Park. The American Midland Naturalist. 126(2):401-403

"Pilobolus , a coprophilous fungus, appears to be widely distributed, but it has not been widely reported in North America. While there are several records of Pilobolus from eastern and midwestern states, the only published reports of isolates of Pilobolus from the Rocky Mountain region of the United States are from Yellowstone National Park. This study constitutes the first published record of Pilobolus from the southern Rocky Mountain region of the United States and is the first report of Pilobolus from Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona."
