Biology and Ecology of Feral Burros (Equus asinus) at Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona Final Research Report
Carothers SW. 1977. Biology and Ecology of Feral Burros (Equus asinus) at Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona Final Research Report. PB83-244939. Museum of Northern Arizona. Flagstaff, AZ
The report quantifies effects of the feral burros in Grand Canyon. The degree of damage depends to some extent on the vegetation types in each area. Management possibilities are discussed, with the conclusion that limited reduction of feral burros is inappropriate. Complete reduction is the only alternative that conforms completely with current National Park Service administrative policies. Contained within the report is a final research report from March 22, 1977 entitled Diets of Feral Burros (Equus asinus) from the Bedrock Canyon Area, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
