Report on 1997 Surveys for Sticky Buckwheat, Eriogonum viscidulum, in Lake Mead NRA

Powell E. 1999. Report on 1997 Surveys for Sticky Buckwheat, Eriogonum viscidulum, in Lake Mead NRA. Lake Mead NRA. Boulder City, NV

In April and May of 1997, sticky buckwheat, Eriogonum viscidulum, (Figure 1) was searched for in sandy areas of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Most areas in which the plant was found had been previously reported. Large populations of the plants were found on the sandy beaches of Lime Cove and Kline Hole. No new searches for the sticky buckwheat were conducted in 1998. Although searches for Astragalus geyeri var. triquetrus in 1998 revealed no sticky buckwheat, these surveys were made earlier in the year than the sticky buckwheat would be expected to appear in every year, therefore, these searches are not included in this report.
