This study documents the results of a study of the biomass on six prairie management units at George Washington Carver National Monument in order to determine the relative success of the burning and subsequent seeding as a prairie management practice. A brief discussion on previous management practices used is included. A discussion on the objectives of the study in terms of ecological succession of the management units as well a site description of the study area. This study was conducted using established methods for plot determination and sampling as well as sample weighing and drying techniques. Conclusions and recommendations based on study results are included. Graphical data illustrates the variance and means of wet and dry biomass for each area sampled and as a total. A map of the management units areas within the park is also included..
