This report summarizes the 1996 Kotzebue Sound salmon season. Fishery management objective are to provide adequate chum salmon escapement through the commercial fishery while also meeting subsistence harvest needs. Escapement was not measured in 1996 for lack of a reliable index, but catch rates remained above average for the duration of the season.
