(Author's abstract) 'Seabird colonies in the Cape Thompson area were surveyed during periods extending from June to September in 1959, February to March in 1960, April to October in 1960, and April to October in 1961. The sea cliffs support over 400,000 seabirds that maintained essentially atable populations during the 3 years of study, Nine species are regualarly represented as breeders. Dates of periodic phenomena were determined for most species during all years. Phenologies of the most important species were summarized. The breeding biology of all the seabird species was investigated to degrees varying with the importance of the species in the ecosystem. The broad outlines of the trophic structure of the ecosystem in which the sebirds take part was worked out and is presented in a simplified diagram. Nutrition for the sea-cliff colonies is drawn principally from the sea and is calculated to be about 13,100 metric tons wet biomass per breeding season.'
