A survey was done of subsistence and other human uses of the area proposed for includion within the 'Yukon-Charley National Rivers.' The survey was done in order to provide the National Park Service with accurate information on the resources utilized within the proposed area for use in Congressional hearings, to provide future NPS managers with 'baseline' information on the type and extent of resource use, and to provide information to individuals, communities, and Native corporations concerned with the Upper Yukon region for planning and legislative uses. Documented within the report are a brief history of human uses within the proposal area, the resources utilized within the proposed area, including amounts and resource dynamics over the past few years, the number of people using subsistence resources in and around the proposed area, including length of time they have been doing so and their dependence on those resources, the geographical areas of use, techniques of using resources, and the impact of current and proposed developments upon subsistence activites in the area.
