(Taken from the author's abstract) 'Since it's discovery in 1994, the National Park Service has conducted a Rare Plant Survey on the Aster yukonensis Chronquist (Yukon Aster) population located on the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes (GKSD). Data was collected during 1994, 95 and 96. This report includes an introduction to the geological history of the GKSD, an historical status of the Yukon Aster, a morphological description of the Yukon Aster, range and habitat descriptions of the Yukon Aster, survey methods, a summary of the data gathered, data tables, location maps, a discusion and recommendations for future studies. This population will greatly extend the north and western range of this species.'
