This relatively early study of the Colorado River Basin includes sections on the plants, animals, and community types of Arches National Monument, Capitol Reef National Monument, and some of what is now in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, as well as other parts of Utah. The report also includes geologic and climate information, discussion of distributional barriers and lanes of dispersal. An appendix checklist gives common and scientific names for amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals; general distribution according to basin subdivisions; and codes indicating records from Brigham Young University or from a publication. Bibliography pages 65-66.
