The purpose of this survey is to provide park managers with the necessary information to make sound decisions regarding trail designation, improvements, maintenance, rehabilitation and closures. A complete assessment is necessary for planning user access and protecting fragile environments. The specific objectives of this survey are to: 1) obtain a complete inventory of existing and historic trails used by mechanized vehicles, and 2) assess the ecological impact of mechanized vehicles on existing trails.
