Genetic analysis of Beardsley rainbow trout from Crescent Lake

Baker BM. 2000. Genetic analysis of Beardsley rainbow trout from Crescent Lake. Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Olympia, WA

Genetic studies on Beardslee trout (Salmo gairdneri beardsleei), an endemic fish of Lake Crescent which is within Olympic National Park, WA. Baker concludes that Beardslee trout are "genetically distinct from other coastal O. mykiss populations from the Olympic Peninsula area and although the population showed evidence of some introgression with coastal cutthroat trout, management actions should be taken to conserve this resource."
