The birds of Bryce Canyon National Park and its vicinity were studied during the summer of 1982 by Glen O. Hallows. The following report was compiled from the findings of this research, covering the period from 1 June 1982 to 31 August of the same Wildlife Observation File and the 1972 Bird Checklist by R.H. Gerstenberg and R.W. Russell. Field data was collected in the Park and its vicinity using 7 x 10 power binoculars. Time was spent in every type of habitat, in nearly every part of the Park and its vicinity. The Park's vicinity includes: Tropic Reservoir, East Fork Sevier River, southern edge of John's Valley, Tropic, and Paria River. Over 300 hours were spent in the field, observing and collection data. Data was collected in early morning, during the day and in the evening. All recorded observations were positively identified or they were not recorded: no assumptions were made.
