Some Effects of Fire on Reproduction and Growth of Vegetation in Northeastern Minnesota
Ahlgren CE. 1960. Some Effects of Fire on Reproduction and Growth of Vegetation in Northeastern Minnesota. Ecology. 41(3):431-445
Fire as an important factor in determining the course of plant succession has been investigated by a number of workers. In the coniferous forests of the Lakes States, however, insufficient emphasis has been placed on the detailed study of fire as an ecological factor. . This paper is an interim report on a long-range study of the effects of wild and prescribed fires in northeastern Minnesota.
