Objectives of the proposed wilderness within Bryce Canyon NP include hiking, camping, photography, nature appreciation. The setting will be preserved in its primitive condition with clean air, clear vistas, no evidence of man. There will exist opportunity for experiences including solitude, silence. There will be no intrusion of buildings, mechanized equipment, guided hikes. Research will be a viable, legitimate use of wilderness. Closures may be implemented where impacts upon wilderness values occur. Wilderness values and resources to be protected and enjoyed include wildlife, historic resources, air and water quality, soil stability. Trailheads into the wilderness are minimally signed in keeping with the policy of providing recreational opportunities but not promoting wilderness use. Fire is a component of the natural state of wilderness.
