Note on a nest box found to house an adult female squirrel and her litter along with 3 other adult squirrels in an urban park. Normally, a nursing female and her young will not tolerate other squirrels in their nest. The authors suggest that a shortage of tree cavities may be the cause of the atypical behavior.
