Recommendations for erosion control on mechanized vehcile trails

Connery B. 1986. Recommendations for erosion control on mechanized vehcile trails

The Mechanized Vehicle Inventory identified sections of various trails where active erosion was occuring. These sites did not appear to be stabilizing, warranting further investigation followed by some initial effort to minimize the degradation of park/preserve resources. Listed are the trails and estimated developments necessary to provide access and minimize the degradation to surrounding environments. The list ranks the trails in descending order of additional trail assessment and trail construction preparation. Designating a trail system may eliminate some trails and research results may provide alternative methods other than the accepted trail developments listed in this review.
