Floristic Inventory and Collections From Selected Sites Within Wrangell-St Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska

Parker C. 1996. Floristic Inventory and Collections From Selected Sites Within Wrangell-St Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska. University of Alaska Museum Herbarium

This floristic survey was contracted by the National Park Service to supplement their three-year Vascular Floristic Inventory of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. Sites were chosen, and logistics provided, by NPS. The primary goal was to document the flora of each site with a focus on rare, sensitive, and other interesting or uncommon plant species. At each site the vegetation was described, herbarium collections made, and special attention given to azonal and unusual habitats. Vegetation types were classified following Viereck et al. (1992) whenever possible. Collections are to be held at NPS and at the University of Alaska Herbarium in Fairbanks.
