"We conducted a survey of warmwater fishes in the Missouri River drainage during 1993 through 1995. Electrofishing gear and seines were used to sample fish communities in 181 locations in 83 streams. We collected 50 species, representing 11 families, in Wyoming. Of this total, 36 species were native to Wyoming. Compared to fish distributions in the 1960's, no species has been extirpated. Orangethroat darter (Etheostoma spectabile) was believed to have been extirpated prior to the 1960's survey, but was captured during our survey. One species, brook stickleback (Culea inconstans), may be new to the state sine the 1960's." (from document Abstract)
