Since 1974, I have been studying the social behavior of Sociobiology of Black-tailed prairie dogs (Cynomys ludovicianus). This report summarizes my findings related to nepotism (the preferential treatment of genetic relatives), the mating system, and the avoidance of extreme inbreeding.
