Voyageur’s National Park lacks an accurate estimate of the number of vascular plant species likely to occur within park boundaries. As of April 2001, there were about 800 verified vascular plant species in the park. Up to 200 more species are expected to occur in the park. The purpose of this project is to critique, revise, and add additional expected species to a vascular plant database for Voyageur’s National Park and determine if the 90% threshold has been achieved. A total of 740 vascular plant species is satisfactorily documented from Voyageur’s National Park. The total includes 642 native species and 98 non–native species. A conservative estimate of the potential flora for Voyageur’s National Park is 934 species. A more liberal estimate, which also includes the non-invasive exotic species and outlier species, is 1045 species. According to these estimates, 71% to 79% of the potential flora is known from the park.
