Geological and Geomorphological Features Resources Survey/Inventory Report
Taylor LA. 1984. Geological and Geomorphological Features Resources Survey/Inventory Report. Research and Resource Management Report. YUCH-84-02. National Park Service, Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve. Anchorage, AK
Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve is located in the Northeast interior, of the state of Alaska. During the Pleistocene, approximately 20,000 years ago, the region remained untouched by the massive ice sheets that covered much of the North American continent. In the mountainous regions within the Preserve evidence of valley glaciation is present. The Crescent Creek Resource Baseline Survey enabled me to spend seven days, from 26 June to 3 July, in one of the glaciated regions of the Preserve. Within the time spent in Upper Crescent Creek, I gathered data pertaining to bedrock geology and glacial geomorphology.
