The author offers an account of his botanical explorations in southern Florida during 1916. He discusses many areas which are now within the boundaries of Everglades National Park (including Royal Palm Hammock, Madiera Bay, Roberts Island, Flamingo and Cape Sable), as well as islands of the Florida Keys. He notes seeing the exotic tree Australian pine growing in the Everglades. Several photographs accompany the text.
