Breeding Bird Survey

This survey, written by Barry A. Jones, Biological Science Technician documents a breeding bird survey conducted at George Washington Carver National Monument in 1994 and provides data on the park's breeding species and the number of breeding pairs of each. It identifies the three areas of special concern (prairie/grassland species, cowbird parasitism, and species of concern at the state level) and the methods used during the survey (observation, recording, and mapping). The conclusions and recommendations based on the results of the survey are included. A table lists the survey results and includes a species code, species common name and number observed. A copy of the breeding bird recording form is included as well as maps indicating locations of species observation.
