Brown bear population survey, Katmai National Park and Preserve - 1985
Jope KL. 1985. Brown bear population survey, Katmai National Park and Preserve - 1985. Natural Resources Survey and Inventory Report. 85/05. National Park Service, Alaska Region. Anchorage, AK
This report continues work reported by Troyer concerning long-term trends in numbers and composition of brown bears in Katmai National Park and Preserve. During 1985, only four creeks (Margot, American, Idavain, and Hardscrabble) were surveyed due to inclement weather. Population counts were at about the level expected except on American Creek, where numbers of bears were substantially low.
