The Burros of Bandelier (A Short Photographical Essay)

Cole J. 1976. The Burros of Bandelier (A Short Photographical Essay). Bandelier National Monument

This report documents disturbance by feral burros (Equus asinus) on Bandelier National Monument, NM. Approximately 30 acres south of the park between the mouths of Medio and Capulin Canyons was restricted to burros. The boundary fence and steep canyon walls created an exclosure. Black and white photographs of both sides of the fence show dramatic differences in vegetation.
