Kiva, The Journal of Southwest Anthropology and History was founded by the Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society in the 1930s as an outlet for publishing the bourgeoning archaeological work on the southwest United States and northwest Mexico. Today, Kiva is an internationally recognized professional journal and the key publication for southwest archaeologists.
