This article documents the first report of the Cascade frog, Rana cascadae, outside of the Cascade Mountains including Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in California. Frogs in the Trinity Alps in northern Trinity County were explored and were reclassified from the red-legged frog (Rana aurora) to Rana cascadae.
