The plan discusses the following in relation to the Monument: location, purpose and significance, influences (legislative and administrative requirements, resources, land uses and trends, visitor use analysis, facililty and equipment analysis, and status of planning), existing management zones, major issues, and management objectives. The statement for management lists four management objectives for Montezuma Castle National Monument: 1) To monitor the condition of archaeological, historic, and natural resources and to manage public use, modify management practices, or otherwise eliminate conditions adversely affecting these resource; 2) To provide for visitor use facilities, management facilities, and programs necessary to meet public needs and protect park resources; 3) To minimize the impacts on the Monument created by development and/or use of lands surrounding the Monument; and 4) To provide a quality interpretive program based on the relationship between man and his environment as reflected in the prehistoric Sinagua and Hohokam cultures.
